
Maryland providers have administered 727,828 doses of the coronavirus vaccine as of Wednesday morning, including 558,838 first doses and 168,990 second vaccine doses.
In the past 24 hours, 13,745 Marylanders received their first dose of the vaccine and 14,350 received their second dose.
At least 365,529 Marylanders have tested positive for COVID-19, while 2,893,656 have tested negative as of Tuesday morning, according to the Maryland Department of Health’s COVID-19 Case Map Dashboard.
Maryland’s coronavirus caseload grew by 976, an increase of about 0.27%.
The state reported 14,361 coronavirus test results since Monday, and has completed a total of 7,274,451 tests to date.
On average, 5.78% of the state’s COVID-19 tests over the last seven days came back positive.
The seven-day average rate of positive tests yesterday was 5.78% for Marylanders younger than 35 and 5.79% for Marylanders older than 35.
Of the state’s total number of confirmed cases, 33,288 people who tested positive for COVID-19 were hospitalized at some point, including 1,377 who are currently hospitalized.
Of those currently hospitalized, 1,051 are in acute care and 326 are in intensive care.
The number of acute care patients declined by 44 while the number of intensive care patients rose by eight, marking a net decrease of 36 people hospitalized with coronavirus compared to Monday.
A total of 7,234 Marylanders have died from COVID-19, with 41 additional deaths reported since Monday. There are also 179 deaths suspected to be related to coronavirus.

As of 10 a.m. Tuesday, there have been 70,020 confirmed cases in Prince George’s County; 60,835 in Montgomery County; 48,631 in Baltimore County; 38,909 in Baltimore City; 33,980 in Anne Arundel County; 16,159 in Frederick County; 15,037 in Howard County; 11,791 in Harford County; 11,756 in Washington County; 8,388 in Charles County; 7,209 in Carroll County; 6,543 in Wicomico County; 6,321 in Allegany County; 4,875 in Cecil County; 4,817 in St. Mary’s County; 3,526 in Calvert County; 3,152 in Worcester County; 2,443 in Queen Anne’s County; 2,317 in Somerset County; 2,189 in Dorchester County; 1,969 in Caroline County; 1,822 in Garrett County; 1,770 in Talbot County; and 1,070 in Kent County, according to the dashboard.
Of the Marylanders who have tested positive for coronavirus, 17,959 are people age 9 or younger; 34,519 are people ages 10-19; 66,387 are people ages 20-29; 63,082 are people ages 30-39; 55,711 are people ages 40-49; 55,177 are people ages 50-59; 37,271 are people ages 60-69; 21,275 are people ages 70-79; and 14,148 are people age 80 or older.
Maryland has identified 191,666 of the confirmed COVID-19 patients as female and 173,863 as male.
Of the state’s confirmed cases, 103,919 are Black, 59,500 are Hispanic, 125,464 are white, 8,116 are Asian, 17,118 are another race, and data is not available for the remaining 51,412.
Nationwide, there have been at least 27,098,933 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the United States, including at least 465,096 deaths. The U.S. has conducted more than 321.8 million coronavirus tests to date as of 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to a real-time dashboard created by Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering.
