
As of Wednesday a total of 570,495 Marylanders have received at least the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, including 181,541 residents who have received the second dose.
Maryland has fully vaccinated about 3% of its approximately 6,040,000 residents with both vaccine doses. About 9.4% of the state’s population has received the first dose.
In the past 24 hours, 11,657 individuals have received the first dose and 12,551 have received the second dose.
At least 366,666 Marylanders have tested positive for COVID-19, while 2,898,536 have tested negative as of Wednesday morning, according to the Maryland Department of Health’s COVID-19 Case Map Dashboard.
Maryland’s total number of confirmed coronavirus cases rose by 1,137, an increase of 0.31%.
The state has completed 7,304,817 coronavirus tests to date, with 30,379 test results reported in the past 24 hours.
An average of 5.32% of the state’s COVID-19 tests over the last seven days came back positive.
The seven-day average rate of positive tests yesterday was 5.29% for Marylanders younger than 35 and 5.35% for Marylanders older than 35.
There are 95 fewer Marylanders currently hospitalized with COVID-19 compared to Tuesday, including 93 fewer acute care patients and two fewer intensive care patients.
Of Maryland’s 1,282 currently hospitalized coronavirus patients, 958 are in acute care and 324 are in intensive care.
The state has hospitalized a total of 33,398 people with coronavirus during the pandemic.
A total of 7,267 Marylanders have died from COVID-19, with 33 additional deaths reported since Tuesday. There are also 179 deaths suspected to be related to coronavirus.
As of 10 a.m. Wednesday, there have been 70,244 confirmed cases in Prince George’s County; 61,001 in Montgomery County; 48,800 in Baltimore County; 39,025 in Baltimore City; 34,096 in Anne Arundel County; 16,190 in Frederick County; 15,087 in Howard County; 11,849 in Harford County; 11,799 in Washington County; 8,427 in Charles County; 7,232 in Carroll County; 6,553 in Wicomico County; 6,333 in Allegany County; 4,890 in Cecil County; 4,829 in St. Mary’s County; 3,535 in Calvert County; 3,164 in Worcester County; 2,453 in Queen Anne’s County; 2,320 in Somerset County; 2,194 in Dorchester County; 1,972 in Caroline County; 1,823 in Garrett County; 1,777 in Talbot County; and 1,073 in Kent County, according to the dashboard.
Of Maryland’s confirmed cases, 18,042 are people age 9 or younger; 34,643 are people ages 10-19; 66,590 are people ages 20-29; 63,282 are people ages 30-39; 55,852 are people ages 40-49; 55,357 are people ages 50-59; 37,397 are people ages 60-69; 21,325 are people ages 70-79; and 14,178 are people age 80 or older.
Maryland has identified 192,206 of the confirmed COVID-19 patients as female and 174,460 as male.
Of the Marylanders who have tested positive for COVID-19, 104,313 are Black, 59,637 are Hispanic, 125,916 are white, 8,152 are Asian, 17,163 are another race, and data is not available for the remaining 51,485.
Nationwide, there have been at least 27,193,849 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the United States, including at least 468,217 deaths. The U.S. has conducted more than 323.4 million coronavirus tests to date as of 10 a.m. Wednesday, according to a real-time dashboard created by Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering.
