The Society of Italian American Businessmen (SIAB) announced that the Galbani Maryland Italian Festival was such a success, it will return in September 2024.

With Jarretsville Furniture as their new sponsor, in addition to Galbani Cheese as the title sponsor, the festival will return to Harford County Equestrian Center in Bel Air on Sept. 27 – 29. This is the state’s largest Italian festival, featuring activities, entertainment, and Italian cuisine for people of all ages.

Last year, the debut of the three-day outdoor festival attracted 25,000 attendees from more than 15 states. There will once again be carnival rides this year; a midway; two piazzas featuring wine, beer and liquor; cooking and wine demonstrations; and local vendors.

The festival’s second year will bring nearly double the number of food and beverage vendors, additional offsite parking and bus transportation, and more VIP villas. There will also be new and returning national and regional entertainment options, and additional corporate sponsorship opportunities.

“Our hopes and goals for our inaugural event last year were surpassed and truly wouldn’t have been possible without the support we received from Harford County. We’re preparing to come back bigger and better this year and look forward to showcasing our state’s Italian American heritage to those who attend from near and far,” said Joe Papa, SIAB president, in a statement.

SIAB will once again hold its annual Bocce Tournament during the festival, where participants can watch and cheer teams that include Special Olympians, while competing for cash prizes. The Bocce tournament and the proceeds from the festival further SIAB’s mission to support charities that focus on education, family and child services, mental health, and addiction.

“I consider myself incredibly fortunate to be part of the SIAB team, contributing to this amazing festival that honors food, culture, music, and more,” said Frank Avena, owner of Jarrettsville Furniture and an SIAB member, in a statement. “I’m proud to contribute to the growth of the festival while also continuing SIAB’s steadfast, charitable endeavors.”

General admission to the festival costs $10 for a one-day pass, or $26.38 for a 3-day pass.  Private VIP villa costs range from $300 to $600, depending on the day, or $1000 for a 3-day private VIP villa. Villas include a tent, large table, lighting, and personal wait staff service for the day. Children 12 and under are admitted for free and must be accompanied by an adult.
