Maryland has reported fewer than 200 new daily coronavirus cases for five consecutive days, and the state’s current COVID-19 hospitalizations dropped by 29 patients on Friday.
State officials on Friday confirmed 145 new COVID-19 cases in Maryland, an increase of about 0.03%.
At least 460,339 Marylanders have tested positive for COVID-19, while 3,501,149 have tested negative as of Friday morning, according to the Maryland Department of Health’s COVID-19 Case Map Dashboard.
The state has completed 10,468,298 coronavirus tests to date, with 22,974 test results reported in the past 24 hours.
On average, 1.37% of the state’s COVID-19 tests over the last seven days came back positive.
The seven-day average rate of positive tests yesterday was 1.53% for Marylanders younger than 35 and 1.25% for Marylanders older than 35.
Of the state’s 318 currently hospitalized coronavirus patients, 240 are in acute care and 78 are in intensive care.
Since Thursday, the number of acute care patients fell by 18 while the number of intensive care patients declined by 11.
Maryland has recorded a total of 43,373 COVID-19 hospitalizations to date.
A total of 9,417 Marylanders have died from COVID-19, with three additional deaths reported since Thursday. There are also 213 deaths suspected to be related to coronavirus.
A total of 2,965,380 Marylanders have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, state data showed on Friday.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday reported that 70.4% of Marylanders age 18 and older have received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine.
Of the two-dose vaccines, Maryland has administered a total of 3,256,607 first doses and 2,726,402 second doses.
In the past 24 hours, providers have administered 11,365 first doses and 18,158 second doses.
Maryland providers have also administered single-dose vaccines to a total of 238,978 people, including 1,049 doses that were reported in the past 24 hours.
As of 10 a.m. Friday, there have been 85,133 confirmed cases in Prince George’s County; 70,958 in Montgomery County; 65,696 in Baltimore County; 52,902 in Baltimore City; 43,814 in Anne Arundel County; 19,783 in Frederick County; 19,232 in Howard County; 16,585 in Harford County; 14,606 in Washington County; 10,887 in Charles County; 9,487 in Carroll County; 7,688 in Wicomico County; 7,013 in Allegany County; 6,309 in Cecil County; 6,032 in St. Mary’s County; 4,221 in Calvert County; 3,662 in Worcester County; 2,998 in Queen Anne’s County; 2,832 in Dorchester County; 2,613 in Somerset County; 2,343 in Caroline County; 2,161 in Talbot County; 2,034 in Garrett County; and 1,350 in Kent County, according to the dashboard.
Maryland has identified 240,810 of the confirmed COVID-19 patients as female and 219,529 as male.
The state has confirmed 25,977 cases in people age 9 or younger; 47,482 in people ages 10-19; 84,389 in people ages 20-29; 78,867 in people ages 30-39; 68,582 in people ages 40-49; 68,497 in people ages 50-59; 45,606 in people ages 60-69; 25,049 in people ages 70-79; and 15,890 in people age 80 or older.
Of the Marylanders who have tested positive for COVID-19, 142,997 are Black, 11,119 are Asian, 162,745 are white, 69,701 are Hispanic, 21,465 are another race, and data is not available for the remaining 52,312.
Nationwide, there have been at least 33,327,112 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the United States, including at least 596,444 deaths. The U.S. has administered 297,329,920 coronavirus vaccine doses to date as of 10 a.m. Friday, according to a real-time dashboard created by Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering.
