
The number of Marylanders in intensive and acute care due to coronavirus dipped, with 13 fewer people hospitalized with COVID-19 on Monday, state data show.
Of the state’s 315 coronavirus patients who are currently hospitalized, 233 are in acute care and 82 are in intensive care.
The number of acute care patients declined by five while the number of intensive care patients fell by eight, marking a net decrease of 13 fewer people hospitalized with coronavirus compared to Sunday.
Maryland has hospitalized a total of 15,428 people with COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
At least 123,880 Marylanders have tested positive for COVID-19, while 1,479,219 have tested negative as of Monday morning, according to the Maryland Department of Health’s COVID-19 Case Map Dashboard.
The state’s coronavirus caseload rose by 477, an increase of about 0.4 percent.
Maryland has completed 2,573,607 coronavirus tests to date, including 17,902 test results that were reported in the past 24 hours.
An average of 2.58 percent of the state’s COVID-19 tests over the last seven days came back positive.
The seven-day average rate of positive tests is 3.33 percent for Marylanders younger than 35 and 2.16 percent for Marylanders older than 35.
A total of 3,793 Marylanders have died from COVID-19, with three additional deaths reported since Sunday. There are also 145 people whose deaths are suspected to be related to coronavirus.
As of 10 a.m. Monday, there have been 29,305 confirmed cases in Prince George’s County; 22,421 in Montgomery County; 17,902 in Baltimore County; 15,582 in Baltimore City; 10,027 in Anne Arundel County; 5,082 in Howard County; 4,054 in Frederick County; 3,039 in Harford County; 2,770 in Charles County; 1,992 in Wicomico County; 1,952 in Carroll County; 1,794 in Washington County; 1,302 in St. Mary’s County; 1,068 in Cecil County; 1,048 in Worcester County; 950 in Calvert County; 662 in Queen Anne’s County; 652 in Caroline County; 593 in Dorchester County; 565 in Talbot County; 464 in Allegany County; 304 in Kent County; 278 in Somerset County; and 74 in Garrett County, according to the dashboard.
Of the Marylanders who have tested positive for coronavirus, 4,616 have been people age 9 or younger; 10,435 have been people ages 10-19; 23,386 have been people ages 20-29; 22,405 have been people ages 30-39; 19,804 have been people ages 40-49; 18,091 have been people ages 50-59; 12,096 have been people ages 60-69; 7,206 have been people ages 70-79; and 5,841 have been people age 80 or older.
Maryland has identified 65,433 of the confirmed COVID-19 patients as female and 58,447 as male.
Of the state’s confirmed cases, 39,257 have been Black, 26,824 have been Hispanic, 31,027 have been white, 2,344 have been Asian, 5,697 have been another race, and data is not available for the remaining 18,731.
Nationwide, there have been at least 7,117,116 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the United States, including at least 204,762 deaths and 2,766,280 recoveries. More than 101.2 million people in the U.S. have been tested for COVID-19 as of 10 a.m. Monday, according to a real-time dashboard created by Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering.
