
The number of Marylanders hospitalized due to COVID-19 on Tuesday remained the same as the previous day: 792 current hospitalizations.
The state reported 577 acute care patients and 215 intensive care patients with coronavirus, the same as on Monday.
Since the pandemic began, Maryland has hospitalized a total of 35,796 people due to coronavirus.
At least 388,666 Marylanders have tested positive for COVID-19, while 3,046,835 have tested negative as of Tuesday morning, according to the Maryland Department of Health’s COVID-19 Case Map Dashboard.
Maryland’s coronavirus caseload grew by 631, an increase of 0.16%.
State officials on Tuesday reported 25 more deaths related to COVID-19, raising the total number of coronavirus-related fatalities to 7,806. There are also 182 deaths suspected to be related to coronavirus.
The state has completed 8,137,574 coronavirus tests to date, with 16,631 test results reported in the past 24 hours.
An average of 3.4% of the state’s COVID-19 tests over the last seven days came back positive.
The seven-day average rate of positive tests yesterday was 3.53% for Marylanders younger than 35 and 3.31% for Marylanders older than 35.
Maryland has distributed the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine to a total of 1,043,950 Marylanders, including 23,670 who received it in the past 24 hours.
Of the Maryland recipients of the first vaccine dose, 572,617 individuals have received the second vaccine dose, including 8,144 people in the past 24 hours.
As of 10 a.m. Tuesday, there have been 74,571 confirmed cases in Prince George’s County; 64,166 in Montgomery County; 51,966 in Baltimore County; 41,047 in Baltimore City; 36,440 in Anne Arundel County; 17,247 in Frederick County; 16,202 in Howard County; 12,771 in Harford County; 12,538 in Washington County; 9,116 in Charles County; 7,696 in Carroll County; 6,840 in Wicomico County; 6,423 in Allegany County; 5,220 in St. Mary’s County; 5,068 in Cecil County; 3,714 in Calvert County; 3,290 in Worcester County; 2,604 in Queen Anne’s County; 2,413 in Somerset County; 2,379 in Dorchester County; 2,060 in Caroline County; 1,905 in Talbot County; 1,848 in Garrett County; and 1,142 in Kent County, according to the dashboard.
Of Maryland’s confirmed cases, 19,462 are people age 9 or younger; 37,532 are people ages 10-19; 70,698 are people ages 20-29; 66,693 are people ages 30-39; 58,809 are people ages 40-49; 58,542 are people ages 50-59; 39,646 are people ages 60-69; 22,482 are people ages 70-79; and 14,802 are people age 80 or older.
Maryland has identified 203,276 of the confirmed COVID-19 patients as female and 185,390 as male.
Of the Marylanders who have tested positive for COVID-19, 112,499 are Black, 62,418 are Hispanic, 135,233 are white, 8,955 are Asian, 18,394 are another race, and data is not available for the remaining 51,167.
Nationwide, there have been at least 29,046,117 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the United States, including at least 525,921 deaths. The U.S. has conducted more than 364.8 million coronavirus tests to date as of 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to a real-time dashboard created by Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering.
