There are currently 1,858 Marylanders hospitalized with coronavirus, with 17 fewer patients than on Tuesday.

Of the state’s current COVID-19 patients, 1,438 are in acute care and 420 are in intensive care.

The number of acute care patients declined by 26 while the number of intensive care patients rose by nine.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Maryland has hospitalized a total of 30,327 people due to COVID-19.

At least 332,353 Marylanders have tested positive for coronavirus, while 2,740,161 have tested negative as of Wednesday morning, according to the Maryland Department of Health’s COVID-19 Case Map Dashboard.

The state’s total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose by 2,167, an increase of about 0.66%.

Maryland officials on Wednesday reported 38 additional deaths related to COVID-19.

The state has confirmed a total of 6,514 coronavirus deaths and there are another 175 Marylanders whose deaths are suspected to be related to the virus.

Maryland reported 30,886 new coronavirus test results in the past 24 hours, and the state has completed a total of 6,541,052 tests to date.

An average of 7.76% of the state’s coronavirus tests over the last seven days came back positive.

The seven-day average rate of positive tests yesterday was 7.84% for Marylanders younger than 35 and 7.73% for Marylanders older than 35.

The state has distributed a total of 702,375 vaccine doses as of Wednesday morning, including 251,293 first doses and 28,119 second doses.

In the past 24 hours, Maryland has distributed 9,999 first doses and 3,756 second doses.

As of 10 a.m. Wednesday, there have been 63,592 confirmed cases in Prince George’s County; 54,835 in Montgomery County; 44,391 in Baltimore County; 35,941 in Baltimore City; 30,355 in Anne Arundel County; 14,447 in Frederick County; 13,592 in Howard County; 10,625 in Washington County; 10,396 in Harford County; 7,303 in Charles County; 6,397 in Carroll County; 5,956 in Allegany County; 5,791 in Wicomico County; 4,438 in Cecil County; 4,161 in St. Mary’s County; 3,099 in Calvert County; 2,831 in Worcester County; 2,196 in Queen Anne’s County; 2,109 in Somerset County; 1,864 in Dorchester County; 1,728 in Garrett County; 1,665 in Caroline County; 1,525 in Talbot County; and 949 in Kent County, according to the dashboard.

Maryland has confirmed 15,817 cases in people age 9 or younger; 30,930 in people ages 10-19; 60,897 in people ages 20-29; 57,790 in people ages 30-39; 51,021 in people ages 40-49; 50,120 in people ages 50-59; 33,703 in people ages 60-69; 19,171 in people ages 70-79; and 12,904 in people age 80 or older.

The state has identified 174,285 of the confirmed coronavirus patients as female and 158,068 as male.

Of the Marylanders who have tested positive for COVID-19, 94,096 are Black, 55,152 are Hispanic, 112,492 are white, 7,166 are Asian, 15,570 are another race, and data is not available for the remaining 47,877.

Nationwide, there have been at least 24,255,934 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the United States, including at least 401,820 deaths. The U.S. has conducted more than 282.8 million coronavirus tests to date as of 10 a.m. Wednesday, according to a real-time dashboard created by Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering.
