I guess some people don’t appreciate classic comedy, or classic felony second-degree fraud.

A Maryland man sued D.C.’s transit authority for $15,000 after supposedly hurting his hip and leg after slipping on a banana peel at the Potomac Avenue Metro station in August. Unfortunately for that man’s case, surveillance footage revealed that he placed the banana peel on the floor before executing a pratfall.

As venerated as the old slip-on-a-banana-peel gag is in American comedy, the man now faces a felony fraud charge. His attorney requested a psychological evaluation for his client, and the judge granted it.
