Boomer Phelps is getting a brother or sister.

The Baltimore Bullet and his wife, Nicole Phelps, announced via Instagram this afternoon that they’re expecting a second child.

The couple married in 2016 – three times, for full transparency – and had baby son Boomer one month before their secret initial wedding ceremony in June. He may have been a good luck charm: three months after he arrived, his dad kicked off a monster Olympic run that earned him five more gold medals and a silver, bringing his career count to to a record total of 28.

Boomer is now coming up on 16 months. The odds are strong that he’ll be a great swimmer – he’s already seen some time in the pool with his Olympian dad.

Phelps should have plenty of time to devote to fatherhood now that he’s retired from the sport that made him famous. He’s stayed busy after stepping away from swimming, scoring endorsements, racing a fake great white shark on TV and exploring Silicon Valley. But barring a comeback, he’ll in the clear to enjoy an early retirement with his growing family.
