This weekend, get a look at what might be on offer at a Howard St. space thatโs slated to become a center for live performance in the city.
A collection of buildings on the 400 block of Howard St. in the Bromo Arts Distric are in line to be transformed into Le Mondo. Itโs envisioned as an artist-run home for theatre and other live performance, as well as a rehearsal space, cafe and space for artists to live and work on the floors above. The idea is to provide a sustainable space for live work that may be a little more experimental than whatโs on other stages.
From August 20-22, the group behind the space is letting the public in for a chance to see a taste of what will be offered. Mondo Festo features a 10-minute play festival on Thursday and Friday night at EMP Collective (307 W. Baltimore St.). On Saturday, August 22, Psychic/Annex at 219 Park Ave. will play host to live dance, and a performance from the Psychic Readings Co.
