Mr. Trash Wheel is getting ready to celebrate his 11th birthday next month and invites his fans from Baltimore and beyond to join him in his Earth Day Birthday Bash on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
The trashy event will take place at the Public Works Experience, where partygoers will be able to paint a real-life Trash Wheel dumpster while enjoying an evening of eco-friendly fun. Baltimore artist Bryan Robinson will lead the dumpster painting, helping everyone create a piece of public art that will be seen throughout the Inner Harbor. Attendees can even decorate their own mini dumpster to take home as a party favor.
The festivities will include hands-on sustainability activities, like an upcycled terrarium station hosted by Studio Cultivated. Guests can blend trash, Earth, and art into an eco-friendly creation all their own. The celebration will be extra cool with complimentary Snow Queens snowballs and Peabody Heights beer available for purchase.
Mr. Trash Wheel has lived in the Inner Harbor since 2014. He and his family have removed over 2,300 tons of trash and debris that would have otherwise entered Baltimoreโs waterways. Over the past decade, the Trash Wheel Family has been at the forefront of environmental victories, playing a pivotal role in the ban of polystyrene containers and single-use plastic bags across Baltimore City and County.

While impressed with Mr. Trash Wheelโs longevity and work ethic, this reporter was alarmed to learn via Reddit that in the aftermath of last weekโs windstorm, Mr. Trash Wheelโs googly eyes were gone. Commenters were dismayed, suspecting theft and even savage butchery. Others were concerned about safety, fearing he might crash into a daycare and begin eating helpless children. One commenter suggested Mr. Trash Wheel was evolving.
Mr. Trash Wheel even confirmed the loss on the thread, commenting, โBut for real, if anyone sees my eyesโฆ please let me know.โ

It became Instagram official when Mr. Trash Wheel announced it in a post, bravely using humor to hide the pain. He issued a heartfelt plea requesting friends be on the lookout for his eyes and requesting their return. Luckily, the American Visionary Art Museum caught a glimpse of them peeping the artworks, but made no mention of their return. Mr. Trash Wheelโs account page has been amended to reflect the sad change.
The focus, however, remains on Mr. Trash Wheelโs upcoming birthday party. Heโs hardly one to sit eyedly by in a creyesis. So, get your tickets to his 11th Earth Day Birthday party, taking place on Saturday, April 26 at 3 p.m. Early-bird registration is available until March 31, with $35 tickets.
