This summer, a new music venue will take over the space formerly occupied by Rams Head Live!, which closed in December.

Nevermore Hall will open in the heart of Power Plant Live!, with new interiors and state-of-the-art production capabilities.

The name, of course, is a nod to Baltimoreโ€™s most famous literary horror writer, Edgar Allan Poe. Poe’s poem “The Raven,” which the city’s football team is named after, features the repeated word “nevermore.”

The local group that owns Baltimore Soundstage is also behind Nevermore Hall, bringing 20 years of family-owned business experience to the new venue.

According to its owners, Nevermore Hall aims to be more than a music venue, but also a tribute to the cityโ€™s artistic roots and creative energy and an anchor in Baltimoreโ€™s cultural scene.

When the space was Rams Head Live!, the venue hosted iconic performances in Baltimore. James Brown, Wu Tang Clan, The B-52s, Public Enemy, The Beastie Boys, Billy Idol, Earth Wind & Fire, The Smashing Pumpkins, Kendrick Lamar and thousands more graced the stage over its two decades.

โ€œNevermore Hall is our love letter to the legacy of this space and to Baltimore itself,โ€ said Nevermore Hall representatives Mike Oโ€™Brien and Dave Adams Jr. โ€œWeโ€™re carrying the torch forward by blending the soul of Rams Head Live! with a fresh vision that puts artists, fans, and the community first. This isnโ€™t just a new venueโ€”itโ€™s a rebirth.โ€

Once re-opened, the space will include multiple bars, expanded VIP areas, custom artwork, atmospheric lighting, and Nevermore Hall-themed dรฉcor with gothic and modern elements, meant as an homage both to Poe and Baltimoreโ€™s artistic legacy. The venue already has bookings and private rentals in the works. Their lineup is intended to reflect their commitment to musical diversity and the City of Baltimore.

โ€œWeโ€™re thrilled to welcome Nevermore Hall to Baltimoreโ€™s vibrant live music scene and expand our longtime partnership with Baltimore Soundstage by coming on as the booking partner for this reimagined venue,โ€ said Kelly Flanigan, regional president for Live Nation.

Power Plant Live! has been a downtown destination for over 25 years, with its many bars, restaurants, and stores. Proximity to attractions like the National Aquarium, Inner Harbor festivals like Baltimore by Baltimore in the summer and the Ice Rink and Christmas Village in the winter, and the city’s waterfront communities make Power Plant Live! a natural stopping point for food and drink. Soon it will also be a concert venue destination once again.

โ€œNevermore Hallโ€™s opening at Power Plant Live! is incredibly exciting for the district and all of Baltimore,โ€ said Anthony Matteo, director of operations for Power Plant Live!. โ€œAs a premier destination for music and entertainment for over 25 years, Power Plant Live! has long been a hub for unforgettable experiences and the best in local, regional and national performances. Nevermore Hallโ€™s opening this summer will set a new standard in live music at Power Plant Live! and Baltimore for decades to come.โ€

The official opening date and inaugural concert information will be announced in the upcoming weeks. To stay informed about Nevermore Hall and its approaching opening, visit their website, or follow them on Instagram at @TheNevermoreHall, and X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook at @NevermoreHall.
