The number of new businesses popping up in Remington this year is growing day by day. Now, add artisanal plant shop B. Willow to the list. A new brick-and-mortar across from the recently opened Remington Row development, B. Willow, opened this weekend with large crowds and a refreshing selection of green things for the home. Large spacious windows fill the shop with light, and dozens of tiny potted plants balance artfully on shelves overlooking Remington through the glass. It is not what you expect to see next door to the 7-11, but there it is.

The shop is a posh and well-curated gift store whose mission is to provide meaningful ways to experience nature to folks in Baltimore. There’s something for everyone. Plant prices range from $3 (for a 2” seedling) to $200 (less plentiful, extra large, well-established plants).
The store carries a wide variety of indoor plants and terrariums, as well as locally made gifts, housewares and planters. The star of the shop is the selection of tropicals and succulents, which have been a part of B. Willow’s pop-up shop business for years. Most recently, owner Liz Vayda drummed up excitement for her new permanent location by keeping a regular inventory of plants on temporary display at Remington’s new R. House eatery.
Along with her shop’s impressive offerings, Vayda also plans to offer workshops and community events to further her mission to bring a love of nature to the city. The business offers a full range of plant-related services, from plant and floral design for weddings to plant-based educational outreach. The website offers free care information on many of the plants she sells, and the welcoming vibes at the crowded grand opening last Sunday promise a pleasant and fulfilling plant-buying experience.
B. Willow is located at 220 W. 27th St, Baltimore, MD 21211, and is now open for business, daily from 11am-8pm.
