Ready for Opening Day, Orioles fans? Get ready to empty your pockets.
The entrances to Oriole Park at Camden Yards now come complete with metal detectors. Fans have to remove phones, keys and cameras before getting the wand. If you happen to bring your computer to the yard, that also has to be removed.
The Orioles are allowing loose change to remain in-pocket. Based on the experiences of airport security, we believe this is a business opportunity lost.
The new system means the gates to the ballpark will open two hours before game time, rather than the traditional 90 minutes.
That leaves plenty of time to find the new location of the Crab Mac ‘n Cheese Dog below the roof deck on Eutaw Street.
