It’s getting harder to actually call him a presidential contender, though he’s certainly as contentious ever. And he’s coming to Annapolis today in anticipation of Maryland’s April 3 primary. Newt Gingrich plans to visit the Maryland State House, walk to Main Street to visit a jewelry store and then get a bit of lunch at Chick and Ruth’s Delly.

I consider Maryland lucky to get a visit from Gingrich after his star has faded. If he says anything really crazy we can take heart in that it is virtually impossible that he will become president.   So if you happen to see Newt on his Main Street walk today waving around an Etch A Sketch, muttering something about a moon colony, promising to create a real-live Kegasus in a test-tube by the end of his seventh term, just enjoy the show.
