Forget surge pricing. A Baltimore man ran up the meter in an old-fashioned cab on New Year’s Day as he took a 250-mile cab ride to Virginia Beach.
When he arrived at his destination of a Virginia Beach Holiday Inn, the man told the cabbie he’d “be right back.” The cabbie probably thought he was going to the ATM to get the extra cash for the big fare. But, according to the Virginian-Pilot, he never returned.
While that’s a hefty bill, there’s no excuse when you can see the meter ticking up during the entire ride. Plus, flights are probably cheaper.
