Three thousands gallons of oil were accidentally spilled into a canal in Baltimore on Thursday.
According to WBAL-TV, the oil spill happened at CP Crane Generating Station, where lubricating oil spilled into the plant’s canal. The canal is lined, which is designed to prevent oil from getting into other waterways. But some oil sheen was visible outside the canal, and was not recoverable.
A mallard and two ducklings were “moderately oiled” in the incident.
