Three thousands gallons of oil were accidentally spilled into a canal in Baltimore on Thursday.

According to WBAL-TV, the oil spill happened at CP Crane Generating Station, where lubricating oil spilled into the plantโ€™s canal. The canal is lined, which is designed to prevent oil from getting into other waterways. But some oil sheen was visible outside the canal, and was not recoverable.

A mallard and two ducklings were โ€œmoderately oiledโ€ in the incident.
