Ownership of a Fells Point neighborhood favorite changed hands Thursday morning, but the club isn’t ending yet.
One Eyed Mike’s was auctioned off in a retirement sale held outside the Bond St. bar. According to the Baltimore Business Journal, the property sold for $1.35 million. The starting bid was $900,000, according to the Ashland Auction Group listing.
While the name and pirate flag suggest a scalawag theme, the bar is truly known for Grand Marnier. The bar’s Grand Marnier Club has more than 2,600 members, each of whom have a bottle on the bar’s shelf with their name on it. The buyer is looking to keep the bar and the club intact. Both were included in the auction, along with the building’s apartments.
Owner Mike Maraziti, who flirted with a run for mayor earlier this year, opted to retire this spring. He opened the bar in 2003.
