The Prince tributes were flowing on Thursday, and, let’s be honest, it should stay that way for a long time. While Baltimore didn’t quite have an all-night party in the streets like the one in the musician’s hometown of Minneapolis, one of our prime public gathering points was the scene of a memorial for the purple legend.
Like you, Orioles heart and soul Adam Jones wanted to hear as much Prince as possible last night. Seeing as how he had a game to play at Camden Yards, the center fielder just added some Prince to his gameday routine.
As he strode to the plate before each at-bat, Jones’ walk-up music was a Prince classic. The first inning featured “1999.” His third inning at-bat brought “Purple Rain.” The next was “Little Red Corvette.”
Machado Ks. Adam Jones walks up to Little Red Corvette, after earlier using 1999 and Purple Rain. Nice job. #Bluejays #Jays #Orioles

And, to take at least a little of the sting off the evening, the O’s beat the Blue Jays, 4-3.
