Every playoff run needs a lucky number. For the Baltimore Orioles, 8 is shaping up as a good candidate. In Game 2 of the ALDS, the Oriole bats once again came alive in the 8th inning, and the Detriot Tigersโ€™ bullpen self-destructed. By the end, four runs were across the plate, and a three run deficit was wiped away.

Just like in Game 1, the productive penultimate period propelled the Orioles to victory, although this time it was a much closer 7-6 margin.

Delmon Young was the hero on the day. Stepping in to pinch hit with the bases loaded, Young pulled a go-ahead double down the line to clear the bases, and push the Oโ€™s into the lead.

Letโ€™s see that one again:

From the same people who brought you playoff baseball at noon on a Friday, thereโ€™s this: no game Saturday. The series resumes Sunday in Detroit, with the Oโ€™s up 2-0, and needing only one win to move onto the American League Championship Series. First pitch at Comerica Park is set for 3:45 p.m.
