Art with a Heart (AWAH) is celebrating its 26th birthday with a hands-on community art project at its social enterprise store, HeARTwares in Hampden, starting on Wednesday, March 18, from 11 a.m.โ1 p.m.

Everyone is invited to color outside the lines, including supporters, volunteers, friends, families, and neighbors who would like to pick up a paintbrush and contribute to the 26th birthday mural. The mural will become the permanent backdrop to workshops and other HeARTwares events.
โArt with a Heart is always happy to bring people together to make beauty, share joy and connect through art, so of course we are incorporating this into our birthday celebration,โ said Megan Gatto, executive director of AWAH, in a statement. โThis mural will serve as a lasting symbol of our mission to inspire, strengthen and heal through visual art.โ
The wall-sized mural was selected by staff and followers on social media and features a playful pattern of a brightly-colored sun. The image reflects the spirit, resilience, and fun of Art with a Heart.
There will be four dedicated sessions for painting the mural where guests of all ages can also learn more about Art with a Heartโs programs:
- Wednesday, March 18, 11 a.m.โ1 p.m.
- Thursday, March 19, 5โ7 p.m.
- Saturday, March 21, 12โ2 p.m.
- Sunday, March 22, 12โ2 p.m.
