Grab your furry friends and get ready to embrace your inner “paw-ty” animal because BARCStoberfest is back for its 18th year.

Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter’s (BARCS) festival and fundraiser for lifesaving programs and animal care will take place Oct. 29 at Patterson Park.

Festival activities include a 5K run or 1-mile walk coordinated by Charm City Run.

Kids can enjoy face-painting, making DIY cat ears to wear, painting pumpkins, and more.

There will be a “Howl-o-Ween” pet costume contest, with winners to be announced in each category: best Baltimore theme, best group or pair (human/pet), and best Halloween theme.

A beer garden will feature several participating local breweries, including Union Craft Brewing, Heavy Seas Beer, Peabody Heights Brewery, Checkerspot Brewing, and more. There will even be a special dog beer from Bark Social.

Attendees can also meet adoptable pets, listen to live music, eat from local food trucks, shop from pet vendors, snap some pictures in a pet-friendly photo booth, try yoga, participate in raffles, and much more.

The organization, which serves 10,000 animals per year, will fundraise leading up to the event with a goal of $350,000, according to officials.
