A student at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University was found dead over the weekend, according to the officials at the school.
Christine Chen, 22, was found dead in her dorm on the music school’s Mt. Vernon dorm room on Sunday. A cause of death has not been determined. Foul play is not suspected, as the university said officials are working with police “as a matter of standard practice.”
A native of Taiwan, Chen played recorder, and was studying in Peabody’s Early Music Department. She recently performed a recital in her hometown of Kao-Hsiung, Taiwan.
“She is remembered for her kindness, her enthusiasm, and her ready smile,” Peabody Dean Fred Bronstein told the JHU Hub.
