A new exhibition at the Peale Center for Baltimore History and Architecture celebrates thirteen Black female leaders across Baltimore City.

“The Guardians: Reshaping History” is a photo documentary and storytelling project featuring photo portraits and audio stories of the women change-makers.

The exhibit will take place inside and outside The Peale at Carroll Mansion, located at 800 E Lombard St.

In addition to the exhibit at the Peale, large scale photographic banners will be placed on Baltimore’s City Hall, the War Memorial, and other historical buildings.

The project provides a platform for women who dedicate their lives to a more equitable Baltimore.

The exhibit will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00-4:00 p.m. until Dec. 19.

The Peale Center will also host two virtual events as part of the exhibition.

On Nov. 16 at 6:00 p.m., the center will host a virtual discussion and tour of the exhibit with lead artist Whitney Frazier.

Frazier, a Baltimore-based interdisciplinary artist, will discuss how the project came to be.

The center will also host a virtual community update on Dec. 7 at 6:00 p.m.

The event will explore what is happening in the communities where the thirteen women work. The women will discuss community initiatives and their future work.
