Charles Street Promenade will return June 14, allowing pedestrians to safely stroll down the roadway without worries of car traffic.
During the event, running from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Charles Street will be closed to vehicle traffic from Saratoga Street to North Avenue. Pedestrians can enjoy local restaurants, retail shops, and cultural institutions.
Afterwards, the Station North After Party will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Station North Arts District.
“Join us for the Charles Street Promenade Pedestrian Takeover on June 14, 2025,” organizers wrote on the Charles Street Promenade website. “This beloved event transforms the Historic Charles Street thoroughfare into a vibrant pedestrian-friendly zone, featuring exciting street-front activations, live musical performances, and more. Explore, shop, and savor the flavors of Charles Street, which will be delightfully free of vehicular traffic from Saratoga Street to North Avenue. Whether you come on foot, by bike, with your little ones, or furry friends, there’s something for everyone!”
This will be the seventh Charles Street Promenade since the COVID-19 pandemic spread to the U.S. in early 2020. Previous events have been held Oct. 17, 2020; May 22 and Sept. 25 of 2021; June 4, 2022; June 3, 2023; and June 8, 2024.
The Charles Street Promenade is supported by the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore, Charles Street Development, Midtown Community Benefits District, Mount Vernon Place Conservancy, Central Baltimore Partnership, Metro Gallery, City of Baltimore, Baltimore Department of Transportation, University of Baltimore College of Public Affairs, and Baltimore National Heritage Area.
Participating businesses include Viva Books, Differentregard, Lumière Candle Studio, ADORN Vintage Furniture & Designs, Alma Cocina Latina, Darker than Blue Grille, Marie Louise Bistro, and EDR Eat.Drink.Relax.
Participating attractions include The Walters Art Museum, The Baltimore Basilica, The Washington Monument, and Maryland Center for History and Culture.
