Belgian cyclist Sep Vanmarcke, riding for Team Israel-Premier Tech, came out on top in the first-ever Maryland Cycling Classic on Sunday.

More than 20 countries were represented in the inaugural race, which started in Baltimore County and swept through Baltimore City to a finish line downtown.

Cyclists Scott McGill Jr., Liam Flanagan and Patrick Welch — who all have local ties — rode for Team USA.

As riders raced, spectators cheered them on with bells, signs, and supportive calls.
