After more than a month, there’s a new find in connection with the murder of rapper Lor Scoota.
According to WBAL-TV, Baltimore police recovered the gun used to kill the beloved West Baltimore emcee. They arrested 23-year-old Avery Walton with the weapon, and the gun was confirmed to match the bullets found in Scoota’s death. Walton is being held in connection with a gun charge, and is a person of interest in the case. That does not mean he is a suspect at this time.
Scoota, who recorded the local hit “Bird Flu,” was killed June 28 after leaving a charity basketball game at Morgan State University where he called for peace. Police said he was targeted, and his killing prompted an outpouring from rappers and athletes around the country. His manager, Trayvon Lee, was killed two weeks later.
