Police were investigating a shooting near the University of Maryland Baltimore. Initial reports from CBS Baltimore and ABC2 indicate a UMB police officer was involved in the shooting.
Greene Street was closed between Camden Yards and Lombard St. during Friday afternoon rush hour as a result of the investigation.
Update 5:05 p.m.:
A University of Maryland Baltimore police officer shot a man in the leg in the 500 block of Russell St. Police said the man was armed with a knife. He was taken to the hospital for treatment, and is expected to survive, the Baltimore Sun reports.
