Experiential Learning at Maryvale

The Patricia J. Mitchell ’65 Leadership Institute at Maryvale Preparatory School is a nationally recognized, best-in-class signature leadership program that touches every student on campus. Maryvale expanded its curriculum to include Experiential Learning. This dynamic initiative engages young women through early career exposure and hands-on learning, ensuring that every graduate gains real-world experience both in and out of the classroom.

Through this program, leadership scholars attended the State of the Woman Conference in Washington, D.C., in the fall of 2025 and the 70th Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations in the spring of 2026. Over the summer, students had the opportunity to participate in 45 different career exploration opportunities. This endeavor pairs students with professionals in fields of interest to them, allowing them to actively learn, develop networks, and deepen their understanding of diverse career opportunities.

Experiential Learning goes beyond traditional academics by addressing students’ identities, passions, and holistic development, fostering growth and confidence.
