STAND FOR AFTER-SCHOOL & COMMUNITY SCHOOL FUNDING:
TODAY, APRIL 24, 4:15 PM AT CITY HALL
Please join BYOP (The Baltimore Youth Organizing Project), The Child First Authority, and The No Boundaries Coalition & BUILD
Monday, April 24th
@ Zion Lutheran Church-400 E. Lexington St.
(Right across the street from Baltimore City Hall)
Join us as we meet with City Council members to demand that there be no cuts to after-school funding in Baltimore Cityโs 2018 budget.
โIn the aftermath of our city burning, Baltimoreโs elected officials made a promise to us, the youth of the city,โ explains Samirah Franklin, BYOP Youth Organizer. โItโs only been two years and we are cut. We call on the Mayor and City Council to keep the promise to and restore after-school and community school funding to its current level of $9.2 million.โ
The Baltimore Family League reports plans to eliminate programming opportunities for 4467 youth and their families and significantly reduce funds for summer programming in light of the proposed budget cuts.
