Rash Field is still in the planning stages for some major renovations, but a new era is already beginning at the park below Federal Hill.
On Saturday, July 30, the Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore is set to hold the first-ever Field Day at the spot. Now, there’s a chance to engage in some friendly competition outside of the final week of school and the company picnic. The main event takes place from 1-4 p.m., with five relay events set to incude everything but the dizzy bat. There will be a wheelbarrow race, a beach ball carry race, a water sponge relay, sack race and a crab walk. We’re providing plenty of warning so you can select the best team possible from your acquaintances. Sign up in advance.
Elsewhere, organizers will have games like corn hole and giant jenga that are designed to be more casual — that is, until your competitive streak kicks in. A Tie-Dye T-shirt station will also be onhand. The local fun will also include local food from the likes of new Highlandtown sausage spot Snake Hill, Fells Point Asian favorite Ekiben, Dooby’s and The Charmery.
