Rash Field Park in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor will open tomorrow, Nov. 6, after years of construction.

The nonprofit Waterfront Partnership, which is managing the redevelopment, will host a weekend-long event to celebrate the opening.

Mayor Brandon Scott and city leaders joined Waterfront Partnership in a grand opening of the park today.

This weekend marks the opening of phase one of the park. Phase two of the park will take several more years to complete.

Plans for phase two include a soccer field, exercise equipment, and running tracks.

The first phase features a nature park, playground, shade lawn, and skate park.

Jake’s Skate Park is named in memory of Jake Owen, a five-year-old South Baltimore boy who was killed by a distracted driver in an accident on the Baltimore Beltway in 2011.
