Baltimore Ravens guard Marshal Yanda placed 37th on this year’s “Top 100 NFL Players” list. That makes him the top-ranked guard in the league.
“Thanks in part to Yanda, no team has surrendered fewer sacks than the Ravens over the last two seasons,” intones a solemn voice over a highlight video that includes all kinds of praise from teammates as well as those who have found themselves “on the other side of the ball.”
“He’s technical; he’s tough; and he’s strong. He’s a monster,” said Mike Daniels, a Green Bay Packers defensive end who, like Yanda, played for the University of Iowa.
But the best compliment might have come from St. Louis Rams defensive end Michael Brockers: “You’re playing checkers, and he’s playing chess.”
