Two years ago, Tray Walker graduated from Texas Southern, where his football career caught the eye of the NFL. The Baltimore Ravens picked him in the fourth round of the 2015 draft, and played eight games with the team last year.

But yesterday night, the NFL announced that Walker had been critically injured in a motorcycle accident in his native Florida, and was taken to a Miami hospital. According to local news reports, police donโ€™t think that drinking/drugs/racing played a role in the crash; however, Walker was not wearing a helmet.

Walker reportedly spent all night in surgery in the trauma unit of Jackson Memorial Hospital, and remains in critical condition. โ€œThis is devastating news,โ€ Ravens coach John Harbaugh said in a statement. โ€œOur prayers and hopes are with Tray and his family tonight.โ€
