Daytime aficionados may have to turn off the TV to go to Horseshoe Casino, but they won’t have to miss the game shows completely. Starting next week, the casino is going to host a weekly game show at the casino called People Are Winning. And Richard Sher will host.

The 45-minute game show will consist of three contestants answering trivia questions. If the contestants get the question wrong, someone from the audience gets a chance to answer. Fitting with the casino’s goal to get people in the door and never let them go, the prizes include free plays at the casino and free meals at their restaurants. To become a contestant, casino-goers must be registered as a member of the casino’s Total Rewards program, which awards people for being loyal casino patrons.

Emceeing is Richard Sher, who earned his keep around Baltimore as Oprah’s co-host on People are Talking, and now hosts Square Off on WMAR.

The first People Are Winning is April 8 at 1 p.m. in the center of the casino in the 14Forty Bar.
