The Aberdeen Ironbirds are a minor league affiliate of the Orioles, but the team has a couple of familiar names as they take the field for the season this week.

On Tuesday, Ryan Ripken made his debut after signing with the team earlier this spring. Heโ€™s the son of Cal Ripken, Jr., who is also the owner of the team. His last name is also on the stadium. No pressure. The younger Ripken went 1-for-4 and struck out twice. But itโ€™s baseball, so thereโ€™s always a chance to make up for itโ€ฆtoday.

Meanwhile, Orioles closer Zack Britton started the game. Heโ€™s on rehab and looking to get back in the big league bullpen. Great Britton posted Camden Yards-like numbers, needing just 11 pitches to retire three batters in the first inning.

As for the game, the home team lost 11-2.
