The Land of Little Horses sounds like the name of an enchanted fairyland that’s too cute to be real. But it is real, and it is full of little horses–and it’s within a two-hour drive of Baltimore.
TLOLH calls itself a “farm park” that celebrates performing horses–little ones, natch –located in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Visitors can watch a little horse performance, brush a little horse mane, give a little horse a bath, and even watch little horses frolic in a field full of wildflowers. If this sounds like some little girl (or boy)’s idea of heaven, well then it probably is. (There are also goats and llamas and peacocks, if that’s more your thing.)
The park’s regular hours continue through the end of August; after that, it’s open only on weekends. So what are you waiting for? They’re horses! They’re little! Get in the car and go!
