Highway workers called 911 yesterday morning after spotting a body in a wooden area by the side of Maryland Route 43, not far from the on ramp to Interstate 95 South.
Maryland State Police closed the the highway entrance ramp as they retrieved the body, which has not yet been identified. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy.
Badly decomposed bodies are notoriously difficult to identify. In recent years, online communities such as the John Doe Network have provided crucial help attaching names to missing and unidentified people.
