What makes Art Outside such a fun and unique event is, among other things, the diverse collection of artists that will be at this day-long, free arts festival on Sunday, May 18 at Druid Hill Park. One of those artists is Shawn Theron who will be unveiling Baltimore’s first-ever Art Truck at Art Outside. Similar to a Food Truck, Shawn’s Art Truck serves fun and varied artwork instead of food. The truck enables Shawn to take his artwork on the road to a variety of different venues like Art Outside, open the doors and show his work instantly.
The Art Truck is designed to engage and invite his audience in for a closer look. Shawn hopes passers by step inside to see his art firsthand. Paintings hang on the walls of the truck, they are stacked in bins, and drape onto the outside of the truck, too, once he stops and parks at a location. The Art Truck is great news for Shawn’s followers, which are many. He has sold 15 thousand paintings and counting.
Shawn and his Art Truck will be at Art Outside at Druid Hill Park on Sunday, May 18. This day long, free arts festival has doubled in size since last year and will feature more than 80 artists, strolling performers and musical groups, an area for “hands-on” arts and crafts for children, Baltimore’s best food trucks, and more. The event will be held rain or shine and there is plenty of free parking.
