Ani DiFranco comes to the Meyerhoff in May.

Grammy-winning singer/songwriter and feminist icon Ani DiFranco is coming to Baltimore on May 5 to perform at Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall on her โ€œSpirit of Loveโ€ tour.

DiFranco has released 23 albums spanning multiple genres, including folk, punk, hip-hop, soul and electronic music, one of her latest being โ€œUnprecedented Sh!tโ€ in 2024. In 2025 she released a 30th anniversary reissue of her 1995 album, โ€œNot a Pretty Girl.โ€

That album was the first on her trailblazing label, Righteous Babe Records, which set the standard for DIY independent artists longing to free themselves from corporate and creative control of record companies. She was one of the first artists to create their own record label.

Valerie June, a Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter, will be the special guest and opening act joining DiFranco on tour.

On her way to Baltimore, DiFranco will headline the New Orleans Jazz Festival alongside Jon Batiste, Lorde, Sean Paul, Big Freedia and other luminaries. In early March, she released her first book, โ€œThe Spirit of Ani,โ€ in which she discusses her creative, personal, and spiritual evolution with cultural anthropologist Lauren Coyle Rosen. DiFranco also added โ€œBroadway starโ€ to her resume, completing a five-month run as Persephone in โ€œHadestownโ€ in 2024.
