Drift Bar, a cocktail dock located in Baltimore’s Canton waterfront, is starting off the summer season by supporting those impacted by the Key Bridge collapse.

On Thursday, June 13 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., the bar is hosting a “Sip & Support” event to raise money for Maryland Tough Baltimore Strong Key Bridge Fund. The nonprofit Baltimore Community Foundation (BCF) created the fund within 48 hours of the bridge’s collapse and has raised over $15 million so far.

The Drift Bar’s “Sip & Support” event will donate net proceeds of their ticket sales to the fund, combining their celebration of the start of summer with the priority of making a positive impact in their community. Tickets cost $20 per person and includes two complimentary cocktails.

This summer is Drift Bar’s second season on the water, part of a waterfront revitalization project to enhance the Lighthouse Point Marina community.

“Join us for an exceptional evening filled with music, specialty cocktails and stunning waterfront views,” said Joel Schlossberg, General Manager of Lighthouse Point Marina. “We’re excited to kick off our season at Drift by celebrating with the local community and supporting the regional efforts to heal, respond and memorialize the Key Bridge tragedy.”

Music will be provided by a DJ, and there will be an Instagram Content contest with a chance to win a $500 Drift Bar gift card. Drift Bar also offers a menu of shareable plates.

“This year, we’re welcoming back guest-favorite beverage items such as the ‘Oasis,’ a frozen coconut mojito that continues to be a highlight,” said Lars Kristiansen, Vice President of Food and Beverage at Oasis Experiences. “In addition, we’re debuting a broad selection of new signature frozen drinks and a variety of beverages available in pitchers, all designed to excite your taste buds and add new flavors to your Drift experience.”

The BCF has recently announced the first round of distribution from their Maryland Tough Baltimore Strong Key Bridge Fund, which awarded critical funds to local organizations impacted by the Key Bridge tragedy. The four organizations are the Community Assistance Network, Pro Bono Counseling, the Baltimore Museum of Industry, and Leftover Love.

Applications for grants from the Maryland Tough Baltimore Strong Key Bridge Fund are accepted on a rolling bases, as are applications for individual assistance through the CASH Campaign of Maryland, both run by the BCF.

“Sip & Support” is an opportunity to celebrate the revitalization of Canton’s waterfront while supporting fellow community members whose lives have been forever altered by the March 26 collapse of the Key Bridge. To purchase tickets to the event, please click this link.
