Maybe you love the Ravens. Maybe you really want to go to the Super Bowl. But do you really really want to go to the Super Bowl? Now’s your chance to find out, I guess: A guy who I feel I can safely characterize as a jerk posted an ad to Craigslist yesterday afternoon offering a free ticket to the Ravens-49ers Superbowl game in New Orleans. How sweet, right? There were only three catches.
The recipient in question had to “be hot and a Ravens fan”; had to be willing to hang out with this terrible person’s aunt and uncle (who gave him the tickets); and “will be expected to put out, at least HJ/BJ/etc.” See, apparently this dude’s girlfriend broke up with him (can’t imagine why!), and he doesn’t have any other friends or romantic prospects in his life, so Craigslist was his only recourse. I almost feel sorry for him. Almost.
Craigslist flagged and deleted the post — after eliminating its “adult services” category in 2010, the site has attempted to crack down on people trying to buy or sell sex — but I imagine the offer still stands. And the sad part is, the guy probably got quite a few offers. A recent survey of 475 college students at the University of Michigan found that of students who weren’t in relationships, 27 percent of men and 14 percent of women had offered someone favors or gifts (doing laundry, tickets to a game) in exchange for sex. The good news: you probably won’t go to jail for this sort of thing.
