Sports bar FLOCK has opened at 1415 Washington Blvd. in Pigtown. FLOCK takes over a 3,168 sq. ft., two-story restaurant building which has been mostly unused over the past decade.

Developer Alex Aaron of Blank Slate purchased the building last year and began renovations to bring in a restaurant tenant. In recent years, this location was briefly the home of Pigtown Ale House, and was slated to become a new location for Washington, D.C.-based restaurant Jerk at Nite, but the restaurant group decided to pursue a different location in Baltimore.

Blank Slate is partnering with Mark Anthony Walker of Sphere Restaurant Group on FLOCK. Walker has been working in the hospitality business for about 12 years, getting his start at the recently-closed Tabriziโ€™s in Federal Hill. Walker spent recent years as a manager at Cafe Fili and will be opening two Downtown locations of his new Tuscan cafe concept DAI!

Walker said Pigtown was one of the neighborhoods in Baltimore he hadnโ€™t explored yet. When he was presented this opportunity, Walker took walks around the Pigtown community and fell in love with its history and proximity to the stadiums.
