Before Mother’s Day, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake was one of a handful of dignitaries who published letters to their children in Time.
The Baltimore mayor’s selfie with Sophia appears alongside mother-daughter shots of Ivanka Trump, Tori Spelling, Britney Spears and Connie Chung. The letter appears under the heading, “Every Day I Find New Reasons to be Proud of You.”
“I love everything about you. I love that you want to wear jeans under a bridesmaid dress. I love that you are competitive yet kind,” she writes.
When she announced that she will not seek re-election, Rawlings-Blake talked about how she is looking forward to spending more time with Sophia as she enters her teen years.
