A bit of sad news struck before Christmas in Baltimore, when a puppy that was a present was stolen from a Roland Park home. But like many who went astray have done before, Peggy made it home for Christmas.

News of the robbery at the Powell familyโ€™s home led to an outpouring from around the city. The three-month-old canine was an early present for the coupleโ€™s five-year-old daughter. As the holidays approached, it seemed like she would be lost to the real-life Grinch. But just before the holiday weekend, the family got a welcome delivery.

Around 9:15 p.m. on Dec. 23, Ann Powell told Fox Baltimore that they heard a noise at their front door. When they looked out, they found the pup tied to a tree with its leash. Making it extra sweet, Peggy was returned on the little girlโ€™s birthday.
