What: In July, we dream of beach houses. Number 112 Norfolk Street in Rehoboth is an airy, open-plan house, built in 2005, that’s been gently used and still feels like new. There’s nothing amazing or remarkable about it – kitchen is smallish, there are no awesome views — but this close to the beach, where every square foot counts, houses can be a little claustrophobic, and 112 is not. The interior photos here don’t really do it justice. There are hardwood and tile floors, hallways are wide, ceilings are high. It’s all light and clean, and because the bones are good, a little decorating would go a long way. Several of the six bedrooms are quite small, but with some bunk beds, there is plenty of room for your whole family. Most important, especially for teenagers and grandparents, lots of bathrooms. The walk to the beach is pleasant, with no busy streets to cross.

12 Saint Martins Road
This Guilford home strikes an undeniably pretty curb-side view. Sure, the interior decor is wacky but that is exactly why it is worth a visit, to see how much work is needed to get down to the original bones. The good news is that it all looks to be scrupulously maintained so the home’s systems are bound to be in good shape. Visualize: pruning roses in that fairytale-like walled garden in the back.
