Mid-Atlantic Day Trips: The Baltimore Waterfront Promenade

My friend suggested Baltimore’s Waterfront Promenade as a day trip destination earlier this year, and we’d been waiting for a weekend which we both had some free time to explore it in its entirety — or almost in its entirety. I am still amazed that I can live within minutes of some of these day trip destinations and not have heard about them except by chance — how much of our neighborhoods go unexplored?

If you don’t know what a tripoint is, don’t worry — I didn’t until this morning, either. According to the Washington Post, a tripoint — also known as a trifinium — is a place where three states converge. And Maryland’s got several of ’em.

My son, 9, is what teachers call “not academically motivated.” Bless them. What they mean is that he’d rather be fishing. Or collecting worms. Not sitting doing subtraction. In class he’s a pain in the neck, in other words.
