“I don’t have senioritis,” says Marla Varnado. Varnado, an outgoing girl in her final year at Notre Dame Preparatory School, is senior class treasurer and a member of the basketball team; she also juggles commitments to various service and a rigorous academic schedule. And she loves every minute of it.

The Claire Marie Foundation Awards First Annual Scholarship in Memory of Claire Marie Wagonhurst



The first annual Claire Marie Foundation Scholarship was recently awarded to Edina Hiser, a 2015 graduating Senior of the Notre Dame Preparatory School in Towson, Maryland. Edina will be attending the University of Southern California, in Los Angeles, to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theater Design at the School of Dramatic Arts at USC.

One Love Foundation Produces Educational Video on Relationship Violence

Sharon Love started the One Love Foundation to honor her daughter Yeardley, a Notre Dame Prep alum who was murdered by her boyfriend in 2010. The foundation teamed up with a production company to create a video aimed at educating 16- to 24-year-olds about dating violence.

“We would do anything to try and prevent another family from going through what we’ve had to go through and it thrills us to think that people will pay attention to this and get out and save themselves,” Sharon said.
