We told you that University of Maryland has the best students in the Big Ten (well, maybe except for this one guy), but, you know, their basketball teams arenโ€™t too shabby either.

Their womenโ€™s team finished the year with an 18-0 record in Big Ten conference games and won the conference tournament. The menโ€™s team will make their first appearance in the March Madness tournament since 2010, as a No. 4 seed.

The seeding is a little disappointing, and the Baltimore Sun reports that head coach Mark Turgeon โ€œseemed more than a little perplexed โ€” and peevedโ€ โ€” to find that the team will be grouped with undefeated Kentucky. But at least we have a reason to feel invested in the tournament this year.
