front table hero

When readers enter the Ivy Bookshop they are greeted by a front table loaded with literary treats waiting to be picked up and perused. Now meet the authors of these great books, too. Join The Ivy Bookshop and Baltimore Fishbowl as we join together to bring you  the “Front Table” at The Ivy, a series of events in May and June featuring outstanding authors of memoir and literary fiction.

On May 29, David R. Gillham discusses and signs City of Women, the story of Sigrid Schroder, a German soldier’s wife tormented by a lost, forbidden love and the grave moral choices she must make in the chaos of 1943 Berlin.

On June 21, Laura Moriarty discusses and signs The Chaperone, a novel about 15-year-old Louise Brooks (before her movie idol days) and the emotional liberation of the 36-year-old chaperone who accompanies her on a trip to New York City.
